The judge will also decide if there are any restrictions on visitation. Child support is determined based on a state guideline amount. Any amounts paid for childcare and health care are taken into consideration when calculating the amount for child support. The parent with the least number of overnights with the child is considered the non-custodial parent and is the one that will pay child support.
